Privacy policy
Who we are
Blowy is a mobile game made by Thorarinn Oli Olafsson, an independent developer based in Iceland. If you have any question about this policy, email contact@blowygame.com.
The short version
- The microphone only measures how hard you blow. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google may collect device data to show and measure them.
- We use Google Firebase Analytics to see how the game is played, for example which levels are too hard.
- We do not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location, and we never sell data.
Microphone
Blowy is controlled by blowing into your phone. The game reads only the loudness of the sound, on your device, in real time. No audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. You can play without the microphone by pressing and holding the screen instead.
Advertising
Blowy is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, device type and how you interact with ads. In the European Economic Area (including Iceland), the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings → Privacy options. Read more in How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage events, such as levels started and finished, types of in-game deaths and ads shown, together with basic device information and an app instance ID. This helps us fix bugs and balance the difficulty. Read more in Firebase's privacy information.
Data on your phone
Your progress and settings are stored only on your phone. Uninstalling the game removes them.
Children
Blowy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data about you, and to object to its use. We do not hold personal data ourselves, but contact us and we will help you with requests concerning Google's advertising and analytics services. You may also complain to the Icelandic Data Protection Authority, Persónuvernd.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the effective date above.
